Wendy Kendall (Sioux Falls, SD)

Goals:
- Get back in shape after becoming a mom again (adopted a little girl)
- Better manage time between family, work, and taking care of myself
- Enter events again this year after not participating since last March.
- Reach my goal weight of 140 lbs, which I haven’t seen since 4th grade
- Considering completing another half marathon in December.
- Teach myself and my children proper nutrition (which unfortunately does not consist of at least one candy bar every day).
Favorite event:
I really don’t have one yet, as I’m fairly new to fitness, but I jog and bike most often. I’ve only completed jogging events to date
Favorite equipment:
-- A sport MP3 player (I’ve owned and lost so many brand, I have no preference anymore).
-- Adidas shoes
About Me:
I am 32 years old Spirit-filled, Christian woman. I have 2 children, a 13 year old and soon officially, a 1 ½ yr old little girl that I am adopting. I’ve had the little girl on and off as a care-taker since she was born, but I gained full-custody of her in August and am waiting for the adoption to go through. I work as a Financial analyst for Card Acquisiton, an up and coming business in the debt buying industry, having formerly worked at First Premier with Kelly, who introduced me to this program. I have been single since 2003 and am hoping to be re-married again someday.
Four years ago, I was 105 lbs heavier. I had lost 123lbs, but I gained 23 back of which I’ve now lost 5. When I was young, I jogged and worked out a lot to stay physically fit. However, when I became a mom the first time at 19, I couldn’t figure out how to take care of myself and another person so I spent most of my 20’s very heavy. When I began losing the weight in 2003, I, began jogging again, and completed several 5ks, a 4 miler run and one half marathon in December of 2005. Then last fall when I got my little girl, I had to learn the balance I never figured out with my son. To be quite frank, as a single parent with exclusive custody of 2 children, working 50+ hours a week, it’s been a struggle, but I REFUSE TO GIVE UP. Four weeks ago, I finally became recommitted to my fitness. I started doing the Body for Life plan and am working out 6 days a week to get myself in better shape than I’ve been in my ENTIRE LIFE. I can honestly say, if I can do this with my schedule, ANYONE CAN!
