Favorite race: Winter Park Mountain Bike Series Admirable Athlete: Any person who has the passion and desire to push themselves further than they think they can…sometimes it's Lance Armstrong and sometimes it's my next door neighbor Unique information or story about you: In July of 2007, my husband and I headed to France to ride and watch Le Tour. We rode several classic climbs in the Alps and Pyrenees, such as Alpe d’Huez, Mount Ventoux and Col du Tourmalet to name a few. One day after a long ride we were enjoying a café au’lait and some pastries, my husband talking to an American and they were discussing who they were going to cheer for in the next stage. The woman asked if we would be cheering for Levi and any my husband replied "no, George". Come to find out, this woman was Levi’s mother. Our jaws dropped, and my husband did a bit of back pedaling. She sat down and joined us for a couple laughs and discussions about Levi. The next day we ran into them at the top of Col du Aubisque, (the finish line of the day’s stage) and met the whole family…a great group of folks. Most embarrassing (race) moment: Coming back from a broken elbow and competing in my first race I was exhausted at the finish looking around for my husband who spotted me first and shouted out my name which startled me; I then grabbed my front brake (hard) and did a complete endo in front of lots of people (I say hundreds, but my husband says four). I have the ugly scar to prove it...ouch! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
