Success Stories

Story #2/3: husband & wife dynamic duo, John & Pat:

John and Pat began taking my spin classes at the end of January 2006.  I remember when they first came in, they were timid and inexperienced.  Over time they both developed more strength and coordination on the bikes, going from the point where standing was difficult and short-lived, to both being able to last through class going full-blast.  I remember when I asked them one Saturday why they didn't stay for a 2nd class they said "it would be too hard" or something to that effect.  They had little experience riding out on the roads and were using spinning to get into shape.

Fast forward to the present.  They now do 2 classes back to back on a REGULAR basis.  They've even done a 3-hour class with no problem.  They hammer in class, coordinated and confident as spinning veterans.  John bought a road bike and Pat is shopping for hers; both plan to enter bike races this summer.  They regularly do 3+ hour bike rides out on the roads.  Together they've lost weight, bodyfat and inches and have gained improved stamina, endurance and cycling strength.  They are truly inspirational to everyone and have set wonderful examples for their kids and others that know them.  I am so glad I got to know them through spinning and now, as members of the DFT club.  They are true success stories!!

Story #1:

Meet Jim:  Jim's daugher, Kristi prompted her dad to give spinning a try back in December.  He's been at it 2 months now, on a regular basis, and has seen substantial improvements in his health and endurance.  He's dropped over 12 pounds and lowered his blood pressure by almost 30 points!  Furthermore, he can tell that his fitness is improving based on his ability to push harder in class, remain standing longer, and he enjoys more energy following his workouts.

In addition to the spin classes, Jim says he's cut back on the sweets and has reduced his portion sizes.  The moral of the story?  Small changes can make big differences in a person's life!

Jim sets a positive example for his friends and family and is a joy to have in class!  Thanks for all of your hard work and discipline, Jim!!  Keep up the good work!
