Do you dream of crossing the finish line of a 5 or 10k, full marathon, sprint distance triathlon, or even a full Ironman? I did! I have realized my dream of crossing the finish line of many races including 11 marathons, 15+ half marathons, many other running events, 30+ triathlons and duathlons of all distances which include 5 Half-ironman and 1 full Ironman.

 

Do you struggle at the back of the pack, and/or deal with physical, age, or time limitations that seem to hamper your progress?  I’ve been there!  I started racing in my late 30’s with a limited athletic background. I have also dealt with serious medical conditions, including having gone through multiple surgeries. Smart and disciplined training has given me success as an athlete beyond my wildest dreams.  I came from the ‘back of the pack’ in races to winning my age group numerous times in local races. I started finishing races faster than I ever felt was possible and I know you can find that athlete inside of you too!

I have a broad range of experience in all distances in the following events:

 

·        Running events from the 5k to the full marathon. Because of a joint condition I actually started by racewalking my first marathon! I then employed Jeff Galloway’s method of run/walk training in subsequent marathons eventually being able to run the entire distance with a personal best of 4:30!  I’ve been featured in Jeff’s column in the May 2003 edition of Runner’s World magazine: http://www.jeffgalloway.com/resources/rw_archives/may03.html 

·        Cycling events such as century rides, multiple day rides, the MS-150. I’ve done 15+ century rides, and have finished the Hotter than Hell in Texas with an average of 20 mph!  Hills and endurance on the bike are my strengths.

·        Triathlon events of all distances from sprint distance to full Ironman! I’ve done 30+ triathlons in many locations and over varied terrain.  I love anything triathlon but would have to say that the Half Ironman is my favorite distance with a personal best of 5:56 in that event. My goals are to qualify for the Half Ironman Championships, as well as Age Group Nationals.

 

A little about me:

I am a part of the DFT women’s racing team and very excited about that!  I’m 44 years young (soon to be 45!), and have been racing for 7 years.  I have 2 personal training certifications from ACE and ISSA, and am certified as a Level 1 USAT Triathlon coach.

 

I can work with you either Individually (in person or online) or in Group Training on the following to help you increase your fitness and athletic performance:

  • Training plans geared specifically for your goals and athletic events whether they be a 5/10 k race, full marathon, sprint distance triathlon or even half or full Ironman.
  • Strength Training programs and advice that are focused on your fitness goals and specific sports performance strength and muscular endurance.
  • Special focus on getting you fit and strong even if you struggle with physical, health, age, or even time limitations.
  • Planned workouts that combine your sport with drills that will give you greater core strength, power, balance, and flexibility for increased performance.
