Occupation: Police Officer/Investigator-Lane County DA's office
Category: Road, Cat 4
Years racing: One year
2008 objectives: Improve strength and conditioning, racing tactics and
improve on individual time trial results from 2007 season.
Admirable Athlete: Billie Jean King (Who else has done what she has for
women's sports?)
Most embarassing race moment: I was being held at the start of a time
trial last year, but neglected to make sure my drivetrain/gears were set
correctly. When I was let go, my chain slipped hard as I pushed off and I
nearly wrecked at the start line (in front of spectators) Somehow I kept
upright, but during my struggle to regain control, my knee hit the part of
the aerobar where it connects to my handlebar and jarred the entire bar
loose. I managed to finish the race while keeping the broken bar in place
and nursing a good sized blue green egg that was forming on my knee.
Results/achievements I am proud of: I started racing at age 46 and I'm
still trying!
