Admirable athlete(s):
Pat Tillman - Professional Football player who turned down a contract extension to join the Army with his brother after 9/11. Pat was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2004.
Oscar Pistorius – South African Paralypmic runner. Known as the "the fastest man on no legs." Oscar was born with a birth defect that resulted in the amputation of both legs below the knees. Oscar is training to compete in the 400 and 4x400 meter relay at the 2012 Olympics. Yes THE Olympics, not the Special Olympics.
Tricia Downing – Treads.com/DFT multi-sport athlete. If you haven’t met Tricia you are missing out. Meet her and you will know why I admire her.
Unique Info about me:
I got into cycling after my wife was diagnosed with MS. After accepting the fact that I could not just fix her MS, I decided to find something I could do to help. I found the MS 150, and I haven’t looked back. I co-founded “Badges 4 MS” with Jamie Burks, a Missouri Police Officer, with the mission of riding in all 100 different MS 150 rides.
