KELLY MORAN (Sioux Falls, SD):

Hometown: Sioux Falls, SD

Education: BS Mathematics, Hillsdale College

Occupation: Business Analyst, Premier Bankcard, LLC

Discipline: Running, Duathlons

Strengths: Running, but getting better at cycling

Category:  Age Group 35-39

Years Racing/training:  Seriously for the last 2 years (Recreationally for the last 20 years)

2008 Objectives: I've recruited a few members to join here in Sioux Falls.  I would like to grow the team here and do events together. Personally I would like to compete in the 2 duathlons I did in 2007 and try to better my times.  I would like to add more races, running and duathlons.  I'm hoping to try my hand at some longer road rides by tackling a day of the Tour De Kota.  I might even be convinced to add a half-marathon to the mix.

Favorite race/event:  My favorite race in '07 was the RYKA Iron Girl Duathlon in Bloomington, MN. The event was extraordinarily well run and the athletes were great.  I would like to make that a regular race for myself.

Admirable Athlete: Jackie-Joyner Kersee

Unique information or story about you: ?

Most embarassing (race/training) moment:  As I was pre riding the course for the Prairie Punisher Duathlon (my first one mind you) with my husband and uncle, I was reading the info on the ground and found myself going too slow.  I was still clipped in when I realized I was going to fall over.  I ended up crashing to the ground.  My first fall ever.  I
was so relieved that I did not do that race day where hundreds of people would have seen me, not just 2.  We all had a good laugh at my expense.

Results/achievements I am proud of: Completing my first Duathlon, the Prairie Punisher Duathlon on 07/28/07, after finding out my father died that morning. My dad was my biggest fan and I'm positive he was with me the entire way!
