Holly Bell

Hometown: Edgewood, Kentucky …. but I currently live in the Highlands neighborhood in Denver, CO.

Education:
B.A. in Psychology from Hanover College; M.A. in Community Counseling; M.Ed. in School Counseling – both from the University of Cincinnati

Occupation: Associate Publisher at Sopris West Educational Services (we publish materials for teachers who teach struggling learners).

Discipline:  Road

Strengths:
  Climbing, fun, and persistence.

Former Teams:  DFT is my first.  I’m a complete newbie.

Category: 4

Years Racing: This is my 1st official year racing in cycling, but many years of triathlon and running.

Objectives:  I’m ready to add a little spice and structure to my cycling.  I love the sport and I’m anxious to learn and join other like-minded folks!  Racing has always interested me, so why not give it a go?

Favorite Race:  Bob Cook Memorial Mt. Evans Hill Climb.

Admirable Athlete:  My very dear friend, Wendy.  She’s my soul sistah, most effective motivator, best workout buddy, and favorite person to take on crazy, stupid athletic pursuits with!  And, she is tougher than any woman I know.

Most embarrassing race moment:  During the Boulder Peak a few years ago, I ran up to my friend Scott as he came across the finish line, hugged him, congratulated him on his strong finish, and handed him my Gatorade.  I sat him down, gave him a back rub, brought him some food…..only to realize after about 15 minutes of my babbling, that it wasn’t Scott at all.  Just some guy who was apparently his clone.
