Occupation: Sales and Marketing

Discipline: Road, Mountain

Strengths: Hill Climbs

Category: Road (3) and sport (MTB)

Years Racing: 2008 is my 2nd season in cycling

Objectives:

For 2008, advance early in the season to Category 2

(I would really like to race Mt. Evans Hill Climb as a Cat 2)

I will be attending Cycle to the Sun in Maui, Hawaii on August 24, 2008

I will be competing in as many road races as possible during the 2008 season including the USA and ACA State Championships.

I also plan to compete in criteriums and time trials for the first time this year.

I plan on representing our team well!

Favorite race: Bob Cook Memorial Mt. Evans Hill Climb

Admirable Athlete:

Kevin McClure, my wonderful handsome husband.

He is an avid road biker, mountain biker, snowboarding, barefoot waterskiing, and Highest Rating Paragliding Pilot (Class 4) and has been my coach and inspiration for the last 6 years!

Unique information or story about you:

I won the Colorado ACA and UCSF Road Race Championships my first year of racing. I wasn’t sure I could even complete the races let alone bring home a gold medal. It one of the greatest feeling of accomplishments I have ever experienced.

Unfortunately, I had a significant set back in the late summer because of a biking accident. I fractured my clavicle and bruised my ribs which took me out of riding until the spring. The healing process is questionable, and I still may require surgery; however, I am continuing to train as there is no significant pain.

Most embarrassing (race) moment:

My first race was the Bob Cook Memorial Mt. Evans Hill Climb, it was an ACA event and the Colorado Hill Climb Championship --I was disqualified for a centerline infraction half mile into the race (aka I accidentally crossed over the yellow line). Regardless, my unofficial time of 2:21:47 would have placed me #1 of ALL female competitors.
