Favorite race: This question is hard, because they are all fun in different ways…some because of location, some due to the friends racing with you, some because of the challenge, and some simply for the tradition!
Admirable Athlete:
Unique information or story about you:
Most embarrassing (race) moment: The first year I participated in the Prairie Punisher Duathlon, I rode a hybrid bike. (I think this was actually my 2nd race involving a bike). Well, little did I know, the race is very appropriately named, “Punisher”, and it was pretty hilly…people on road bikes were flying by me! For the final miles of my ride, there was a squad car right on my tail…yes folks, I was bringing up the rear on the ol’ bike course! When I hit that 2nd run, I fought like a mad woman to pass a 60+ year old man, just so I wouldn’t finish last!

My blurb:
I'm fairly new to multi sport and, as mentioned above, 2006 was my first attempt at cycling competition. My athletic ventures began when, as a total wild hair, I signed up with Team in Training to run the Walt Disney World Marathon. I began training in August '02 and completed the marathon in January '03. Since then, I've added 3 more marathons, triathlons (including everything from sprint distance to half ironman distance), duathlons and cycling races to my memoirs. It's been so much fun training and meeting people in various events. Through these acquaintances, I also started taking spinning classes, which led to getting my certification in January '06. I currently teach spinning classes in Mission, KS, and absolutely love this additional outlet!
What pays the bills? Certainly not my athletic ventures (ha ha). I'm going on 10 years with a local investment management firm, American Century Investments. I'm Series 6 & 63 licensed, and work as an Internal Sales Manager for our Third Party distribution area. The job keeps me very busy, but I'm grateful to have flexibility too, allowing me to teach spinning and fit in all the training.
Another nice addition to my life is the horse...I mean, puppy that I have. Actually, Megan, Julie and I have sibling pups in each of our homes. We have yet to get them all back together, but I smell a family reunion coming on sometime down the road. Tucker's a big boy and is a running buddy in the making, so I'm excited about that.
Team duty: Dawn is our Speedplay and Profile Design liason.
