About the Defined Fitness Training club (CO chapter above, KS/MO chapter below) Who We Are The Defined Fitness Training club/team was founded in 2006. It began as a group of Kansas City women who wanted to collaborate and meet to learn from one another in cycling and multisport activities, as well as to train and travel together. In 2007 the team grew to include over 30 female members in seven states. Members were asked to commit to race/volunteer at 4 events during the 2007 calendar year. Members participated in triathlons, duathlons, marathons, cycling races, MTB races, track races, adventure races and cyclocross races. They also took part in numerous charity events and offered their services as volunteers at races. In 2008, we decided to take our mission statement one step further by becoming an all-inclusive team. So intead of turning away the men, we are welcoming them to our roster! Men new to their sports of choice need sources of information and training partners, too! So guys, welcome aboard!! Our members' backgrounds vary which gives our group depth and variety. Members' professions include: banking, law, teaching, investments, interior and exterior design, city planning, education, graphics, wellness and more. Members' ages span from college to early retirement, and skill levels range from amateur to semi-professional. Our members race every discipline of running, biking, swimming and multisport and can be seen proudly wearing our sponsored team kits while training throughout the country. We are a registered USA Cycling and USA Triathlon team Motto, Goal & Mission Motto: "competitively healthy and healthily competitive" Our goal is to leverage team effort and sponsor support to enable our athletes to reach their goals, by providing them the tools, knowledge, and resources to get there, as well as answers to their questions along the way. Our team provides a membership-network to foster growth and provide motivation during training sessions and competitions as well as to enable each athlete’s pursuit of a well-balanced lifestyle. Our #1 team mission remains the same as it did when we began in 2006: to foster a sense of belonging and support for our members while remaining a no-pressure, "no such thing as a stupid question" type of environment. Most importantly, the men and women in the club will further our mission and purpose by helping other men and women learn about the sports, equipment, rules, and methods of training.
